Top ranked UConn goes for its 100th consecutive win on Monday against No. 6 South Carolina at Gampel Pavilion. Monday’s tip-off is at 9 p.m. and will be televised nationally on ESPN2. The Huskies extended its NCAA record winning streak to 99 games after defeating SMU on Saturday.

USF clinched the program’s fifth consecutive 20-win season on Sunday when they defeated Tulane, 66-56, at the Sun Dome. The Bulls earned their 20th win in their 24th contest of the season, which tied the fastest any program has reached 20 wins.

UConn guard Kia Nurse claimed a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 First Team, as announced by the organization Thursday. Nurse is now eligible to be named a member of the 2016-17 Academic All-America Team, which recognizes excellence on the court and in the classroom.

Head coach Melissa McFerrin earned her 200th career win and 150th victory at Memphis on Jan. 28 during the Tigers’ Play4Kay game vs. UCF. USF coach Jose Fernandez earned a similar milestone earlier this month when he won his 300th career game on Jan. 17.

For the third straight year, Tulane will have a representative in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) ‘So You Want to be a Coach’ class. The WBCA announced the participants for the 15th annual event on Jan. 30 with senior guard Leslie Vorpahl making the 61-player list.

The conference has four teams (UConn, USF, Temple, Tulane) in the latest ESPN Bracketology report.

The American has won 68-percent (96-of-141) of its non-conference games this season, its best showing since the league was formed in 2013.
