Palm Desert, CA – COD Women’s Basketball sophomore forward Jerrica Perez (Indio Shadow Hills) has signed a letter of intent with Nebraska Christian College.
Perez was named honorable mention All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference this past season. She finished 3rd on the team in total points with 224, averaging 9.3 points per game. Perez was a deadly 75% from the free throw line, going 27 of 36 from the line for the season and had a season high 35 points against MiraCosta at the Cuesta Tournament on December 2nd. She scored in double digits ten times during the 2016-17 season.
Under the tutelage of veteran coach Ronald “Skip” Parry, in his 6th season at the helm, Desert Women’s Basketball ended the 2016-2017 season with a record of 6-20 overall and 2-6 in Conference, finishing fourth.
Perez stated the reason she chose NCC is because, “It’s a smaller school, where I can really focus on my studies and I didn’t want to stay in California to complete my education.” Perez continued, “The Women’s Basketball team is good and I was raised as a Christian and I wanted to go to a Christian school.”
Nebraska Christian College of Hope International University is located in Papillion, Nebraska, which is about 20 miles southwest of Omaha, Nebraska.
