BOSTON – For the second consecutive week and third time this season, University of Vermont freshman forward Hanna Crymble has been named the America East Rookie of the Week. The conference office made the announcement on Monday morning for the period ending February 12.
Prior to being honored last week, Crymble garnered her first Rookie of the Week selection on January 23.
A biochemistry major from Champlin, Minnesota, she averaged 12.3 points and shot 53 percent from the field over the Catamounts three games last week in a six-day span. She made seven of her 12 shots in a closely-contested setback at Binghamton on Monday (Feb. 6) and finished just one rebound short of what would have been her fifth double-double.
She played 36 minutes on Sunday (Feb. 12) against UMBC and put down 15 points while coming down with five boards.
Crymble also was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line in UVM’s three contests and added a 3-for-4 clip from downtown.
Vermont is approaching the middle of three consecutive home games and hosts UMass Lowell on Wednesday (Feb. 15) in a 7 p.m. game at Patrick Gymnasium. Fans unable to make it to Burlington can watch the game live on ESPN3 and on the WatchESPN app.
