Dodgers return home Monday to take on Nationals and Reds

LOS ANGELES – Following a weekend series in Milwaukee, the Dodgers return home Monday for a six-game homestand against the Washington Nationals (June 5-7) and Cincinnati Reds (June 9-11), which includes the always popular Old-Timers Day on Saturday, June 10, presented by Security Benefit.

The Washington series, a rematch of the 2016 National League Division Series, includes Firefighter Appreciation Night Monday, the first installment of the Bobbleheader – Justin Turner Selfie Bobblehead Night presented by State Farm – Tuesday and a special 12:10 p.m. mid-day start time on Wednesday. The Turner bobblehead is the first of two bobblehead giveaways in the selfie series along with a matching Adrián González bobblehead, which will be given away on Sept. 6.

During the off-day on Thursday, June 8, Dodger Stadium will host the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation’s Blue Diamond Gala, featuring a concert by Grammy Award®-winning bands Maroon 5 and Earth, Wind & Fire.

The Dodgers will take on the Reds for a weekend series with LGBT Night and Friday Night Fireworks, presented by Denny’s, on Friday, Old-Timers Day, presented by Security Benefit, prior to Saturday’s game and a Kids Yasmani Grandal t-shirt giveaway presented by Chef Merito Sunday. Old-Timers Day festivities kick off with batting practice at 4:00 p.m., inductions at 5:00 p.m. and a 2-3 inning game, featuring Dodger greats Don Newcombe, Tommy Davis, Manny Mota, Ron Cey, Steve Garvey, Orel Hershiser, Nomar Garciaparra, Rick Monday, Steve Yeager, Steve Sax and Fernando Valenzuela.

Theme Night: 4th Annual Firefighter Appreciation Night (special ticket package, which includes t-shirt, available at Dodgers.com/Firefighter). As part of Firefight Appreciation Night pregame ceremonies, the Dodgers will recognize Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Ralph Terrazas and honor Firefighter Brent Hartwell with a Community Hero Award.

o   Special Guests: Billy Bean (Major League Baseball Vice President & Special Assistant to the Commissioner), Brian Pendleton (founder of #ResistMarch), actors Noah Galvin and Guillermo Diaz plus Paul Katami and Jeff Zarrillo, best known for being plaintiffs in the landmark case overturning Prop 8 and restoring marriage equality to California.

4:00 p.m. Old-Timers Batting Practice, 5:00 p.m. Introductions followed by 2-3 inning game.
o   Dodger greats Don Newcombe, Tommy Davis, Manny Mota, Ron Cey, Steve Garvey, Orel Hershiser, Nomar Garciaparra, Rick Monday, Steve Yeager, Steve Sax and Fernando Valenzuela will be part of the festivities.
