The Bullfrogs welcome back Brad Hamilton, as well as two from Lenoir Rhyne.
Green Bay, Wis – The Green Bay Bullfrogs have announced the signings of three players to their 2017 season roster. Brad Hamilton from Kent State, as well as Zack Shoemaker and Brett Fulk of Lenoir Rhyne.
Brad Hamilton, a 6’3” 215 lbs. catcher from Avon Lake, Ohio, will begin his junior season with Kent State this spring. In 2016 Brad played in twenty games and batted .309 with three home runs for the Golden Eagles. This will be Hamilton’s second season with the Bullfrogs. Last season Hamilton posted 23 hits to go along with 16 runs and 16 RBI’s for the Bullfrogs. Hamilton has strong baseball ties. His older brother played in the College World Series and played within the Indian’s minor league system. His father is the voice of the Cleveland Indians.
The Bullfrogs will also add a duo of Lenoir Rhyne Bears. Sophomore Zack Shoemaker, a 6’0” catcher from Colfax, North Carolina, posted 13 RBI’s to go along with an on base percentage of .333 as a freshman with the Bears. The Shoemaker name might sound familiar to some Bullfrog fans, as he is the younger brother of former Bullfrog star Marcus Shoemaker. Shoemaker, who was an outfielder, led the team in runs and hits during the 2016 campaign.
He will be joined by teammate Brett Fulk, a 6’2” sophomore right handed pitcher from East Bend, North Carolina. In his first season on the mound, Fulk posted a 3.75 ERA and a 2-1 record in eight appearances. He also tacked on seventeen strikeouts.
The Bullfrogs will open their season at home Tuesday, May 30 at 6:35 p.m. against the Wisconsin Woodchucks.
