Stockton, Calif. – The Stockton Heat, proudly owned by the NHL’s Calgary Flames, announce that forward Mikkel Aagaard has been recalled by the club from the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL.
Aagaard, 21, ranks fifth in the ECHL on the rookie scoring leaderboard with 40 points in just 38 games played for the Thunder. With 13 goals and 27 assists, Aagaard departs the Thunder tied for the team lead in points. This is Aagaard’s second stint with the Heat as the forward played 4 games with the Heat in November where he recorded his first AHL goal on November 26 and followed it up with his first assist the next night in road games against the Tucson Roadrunners. He became the first player ever to suit up for the Calgary Flames AHL affiliate from Denmark when he made his Heat debut on November 12.
