On what happened to Morris Claiborne, Bilal Powell, and Buster Skrine…
Claiborne was fine, we just wanted to see some other guys today, so we let him do some individual stuff then we looked at other guys. As far as I know, Powell got the wind knocked out of him. I did not see Buster go down. It must have been towards the end. I didn’t see him go down so I don’t know.

On his message to the team when it huddled during the middle of practice…
I didn’t bring them into the huddle. That was the team meeting by themselves. They called themselves up. I wasn’t in there.

On if he can share the gist of the conversation…
I don’t know. Its camp. They get each other going, so it’s good to see them take some ownership and some accountability.

On how he would rate today’s practice compared to yesterday’s practice…
We made progress today. They’re working hard. They got better. It’s camp days. Obviously, they got better from yesterday to today. We’ve got to keep going tomorrow.

On if one player brought the team together in the huddle…
Not to my knowledge, no.

On if everybody came together…
Yes.

On if he expects growing pains with installing the new offense…
No, it’s a little bit of everything. I thought the offense started out having a good practice. Defense won the red zone drill, but the offense won quite a few other drills. It’s a lot of give-and-take. You want to see more give-and-take, but it was good competition.

On if he is concerned with what he saw from the offense…
No, we just got into (focusing on) the red zone for the first and second time really. We are running through things. We’ll iron the kinks out. It’s early in camp. We’ll be fine.

On whether there is any update on Jamal Adam’s Injury…
Not yet, he is still day to day.

On if Adams injury was a low ankle sprain…
They didn’t tell me. They just told me it was day-to-day.

On nature of the injury to Brandin Bryant…
I know he got a sore shoulder or a peck. I don’t know how bad it is yet.

On whether Bryant has been released…
He was released earlier. Obviously, he would have been out for a while, so we needed some bodies to come in.

On what he likes about Devon Still and Bruce Ellington…
With Claude being down for a little while and Bryant being down, Stills played in the league. He understands the system a little bit. We needed somebody who can come in and compete right away. The other guy we had was a try-out before and he’s big and he’s strong so we wanted to see what he can do.

On Ellington as a returner…
Yes, Ellington is a return candidate. He’s another receiver/running back and can do a lot of things, has a lot of jobs, so we’ll take a look at him.

On when he feels he can make decisions on the roster …
We’ll it will go up until the fourth game since we can keep all 90 now. You make certain decisions on certain guys. You know which spots are taken. Maybe after the third preseason game you kind of know, and then there is about four or five spots left when you fight for the fourth spot. Right now, you don’t know because it’s training camp. People get nicked up and people are still installing and everybody has got to learn the fundamentals and do it the right way in pads because you don’t get that in the spring. It’s a constant process.

On if he gets a good sense of his team collectively…
I think I get a pretty good sense every day.

On what practice will look like for Green and White…
It will be more team. We’re not really (tackling) them to the ground. We’ve been pretty physical the past couple days here but it’ll be good practice for the coordinators to call it and it won’t be scripted so they’ll get practice coaching in game day situations. The players will get practice running on and off the field. We’ll call some plays, have a good thud and have some juices flowing.

On if practice will be run more like a scrimmage tomorrow…
Wherever they move the ball, that’s where they’ll have it.

On if there is anyone who won’t participate tomorrow…
The injured guys I don’t know about. I’m not trying to rush Matt or Jamal back. They get back when they get back. I’ll see if anybody got nicked up today and see how bad they are tomorrow.

On why the Jets haven’t done any joint practices the last few seasons…
It’s a little difficult setting it all up because some of them are scheduled a year ahead of time. You get in on the ground floor but there’s a lot of new guys. You really want to get the system in place this year so this year I don’t think would be a good year. We’ll definitely try to look into that next year.

On how Josh Martin has looked compared to last year…
He kicked well last year. He missed some in preseason games and (Nick) Folk beat him out but the kid is a good kicker. We just want to see what he does when the lights come on.

On if he thinks it’s possible for a player to record 30 sacks in one season given Von Miller’s recent comments…
Everything is possible. He’s a hell of a football player. We’ll see.

On what he’s seen with all of the question marks on the offensive line…
I don’t think I have any question marks on the offensive line. I think we have healthy competition. We have a bunch of good players and we’re about two deep at each spot. I just want to see who makes it out of there.

On offensive coordinator making the entire third-team offense run a lap and if he’s seen that before…
I’ve seen it before. It wasn’t John (who said to run a lap), it was me.

On why he told them to run a lap…
They probably just needed to get in a little better shape.

On if Adams missing time in practice hurts his chances of starting in week one…
No, it’s training camp. Guys get nicked up. It’s the first week. It’s going to happen. He’ll get back when he gets back. But he studies so he’ll be fine.

On what stands out in his memory about coaching Jason Taylor who will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame…
Pure class. Always helped the younger guys. Had a heck of a long stick in his pass rush. Extrmely intelligent football player, equally a great person. I wish him nothing but the best. If I had time I would go, but I don’t have the time. I already sent him my best wishes.
