Home Opener on May 19 Marks Start Of the Stars 15th Anniversary Season in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO – Single-game tickets for the San Antonio Stars 15th anniversary season, presented by H-E-B, will go on sale Thursday, Feb. 23 at noon. Fans will be able purchase tickets with no fees until midnight by calling 210-444-5090 or by visiting SAStars.com.

Tickets start at $15 and pre-sale access will be available starting on Tuesday, Feb. 21 by subscribing to the Stars Official Fan Club or by following the Stars on Facebook or Twitter (@SAStars).

Under first-year head coach Vickie Johnson, the Stars will face the Phoenix Mercury on Friday, May 19 in the 2017 home opener presented by St. Philip’s College, celebrating the start of the team’s 15th season in San Antonio. Prior to the start of the season, the Stars will select the Nos. 1 and 5 picks in the WNBA Draft in April. This is the first time that San Antonio has held the No. 1 pick and the first time the team has had two first-round picks since moving to the Alamo City in 2003. The regular-season will wrap up at home on Friday, Aug. 25 against the Minnesota Lynx. All 2017 Stars home games will be played at the AT&T Center.

The 2017 home schedule will also feature various theme nights, including Hoops and Hounds on June 10, Hoops for Troops on July 7, Go Red for Women on Aug. 4. Breast Health Awareness Night on Aug. 5 will include the annual jersey auction following the conclusion of the game with proceeds benefitting breast health awareness. The Stars will wrap up the regular-season promotion schedule with Fan Appreciation Night on Aug. 25.

Individual tickets will be available to the general public at all San Antonio Ticketmaster locations, including by phone at (210) 225-TEAM, or online at ticketmaster.com or SAStars.com. Tickets can also be purchased at the AT&T Center Box Office Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on weekend event days five hours prior to tip off.
