Head Coach Adam Wagner is pleased to announce the commitment of transfer Bryce Evon to the Lancer golf program for the 2017-18 season.

Evon joins the Lancers after four years with the NCAA’s Michigan Wolverines and is transferring to the University of Windsor to complete his teaching degree in the Faculty of Education.

A top-notch golfer with the Wolverines, Evon started nine of ten tournaments in his senior year and helped U-M post five top three finishes including team titles at the Dayton Flyer Invitational and the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate.

The Vincent Massey graduate averaged 75.20 per round this past season, with a career-best-tying 68 three times.

Wagner has been talking with Evon for a few years and is eager to have him join the Lancer program. “I am thrilled to be able to finally announce the addition of Bryce Evon to our men’s team for the September.  We have been in talks with Bryce for the past two years and for this day to come when we can announce his commitment to the University of Windsor has been a long time coming.”

Wagner continues, “For our program to add a player with Bryce’s experience and ability is a huge step forward for the golf program at Windsor.  Bryce is certain to be an impact player for our squad and significantly increase our chances when we tee it up in September.”

A two-time academic all-Big Ten, Evon captured the U-M Academic Achievement award four times, the Big Ten Sportsmanship award in 2014, as well as the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) team academic honour in 2015 and U-M’s Jim Carras Award for development in 2017.

The Windsor, ON native found the University of Windsor a perfect fit to complete his schooling and close out his varsity career. “I’m very excited to join the Lancers this coming fall,” said the Vincent Massey grad. “I’ve heard a lot of great things about the program and there are some fantastic coaches at the helm, so I’m looking forward to getting to work this September and doing whatever I can to contribute to the team’s success.”
