Ball State Women’s Golf Fifth through 36 Holes in Florida


Final round of Sunshine Invitational set for Saturday in Port St. Lucie

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Manon Tounalom led the Ball State women’s golf team Friday on a tough course at St. Lucie Trail Golf Club.

On the opening day of the Cardinals’ spring season, the scoring average for the field was higher than 84 at the Ball State Sunshine Invitational.

Tounalom, a freshman from France, turned in two rounds of 80 to find herself in a tie for 11th place at 160 (+16).

Ball State sits fifth in the 12-team field with one round left. The Cardinals posted consecutive rounds of 329 on Friday for a 36-hole total of 658.

Toledo leads the way at 630, while Southern Illinois (636), Lamar (649) and Eastern Kentucky (651) round out the top four.

Kelsey Sear and Allison Lindley are the next Ball State players on the individual leaderboard in a tie for 24th with scores of 166.

Kristie Yang of Southern Illinois and Elodie Chapley of Lamar share the individual lead at 153 (+9).

The third and final round of the Sunshine Invitational is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start Saturday. Live scoring is available at
