Debonis, Vrolijk set to join NKU men¹s golf


HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Ty Debonis and Jacob Vrolijk have committed to the Northern Kentucky men’s golf team head coach Daryl Landrum announced.

Debonis, a native of Batavia, Ohio, is a three-time first team all-Ohio honoree who helped lead Archbishop McNicholas to a state title in the fall with a fifth-place finish on the individual leaderboard. This came on the heels of Debonis’ third-place effort in 2015 and fourth-place showing in 2014. The four-time all GCL player was also named the GCL Co-ed Player of the Year and Enquirer Division II Player of the Year in 2015.

Vrolijk is a 2016 KHSAA first team all-state performer out of Grant County High School. The Dry Ridge, Kentucky, native has twice been named to the Enquirer first team and earned three KGCA All-Region Team honors. Vrolijk qualified for the KHSAA state championship during both the 2015 and 2016 seasons. In 2016, he won the Beechwood Invitational and Grant County Classic.

Debonis and Vrolijk will join the Norse next fall.
