Flames Foundation to Host Hockey Is For Everyone Event on Family Day



Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames Foundation will host the second annual “Hockey Is For Everyone” event on Monday, February 20th, 2017 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Initiated by Rob Kerr (Sportsnet 960 the FAN) and co-hosted alongside Harnarayan Singh (Hockey Night in Canada in Punjabi), this free event is intended to introduce new adult Canadians and other interested parties to the sport of hockey, its rules, history and cultural significance in Canada.

Supported by Hockey Canada, Hockey Calgary, HEROS Hockey, Football Hockey Link and KidSport Calgary, participants will also have the opportunity to take in a viewing of a Calgary Flames practice, an introduction to minor hockey in Calgary and special presentations.

Fans in attendance will also receive a complimentary ticket to the Wednesday, March 8th Calgary Hitmen vs. Saskatoon Blades game where a “Forever A Hitmen” banner will be raised to the rafters for alumnus Andrew Ladd in a special pre-game ceremony.

Breakfast, as well as complimentary parking, will be provided. Participants are asked to park in the three-level parkade located on the North side of the Scotiabank Saddledome.
