Luke Kornet named CoSIDA Academic All-District for third time


Senior averages 13.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.

Vanderbilt senior center Luke Kornet has been named to the The 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ for his combined exploits athletically and in the classroom. Kornet, from Lantana, Texas, who was also named to the 2015 and 2016 team, is a Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics major with a 3.71 GPA.

Kornet, from Lantana, Texas, averages 13.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, and is the all-time NCAA leader for made threes by a seven footer. He has scored in double figures in 18 games this season, and is currently second in the SEC in three-point field goal percentage (.456) in league games only. In his career, he is second on VU’s all-time career blocks list and has 999 points heading into this weekend’s game at Missouri.

First-team Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
