Winnipeg, MB – The Manitoba Moose Hockey Club is pleased to invite members of the media to join Manitoba Moose players on a visit to Assiniboine Park Zoo on Louis Riel Day, Monday, Feb. 20 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Moose players will present Assiniboine Park Zoo Sr. Director of Animal Management & Conservation Gary Lunsford with this year’s Polar Bear jersey at 2:00 p.m. inside the “Gateway to the Arctic” building at the “Journey to Churchill” exhibit. Media attending should arrive at Assiniboine Park Zoo at 1:45 p.m. through the East/Special Events Entrance located at 54 Zoo Drive. While at Assiniboine Park Zoo, Moose players will be located throughout the “Journey to Churchill” exhibit to meet and interact with fans. Guests attending the Zoo will have the opportunity to win prizes in a scavenger hunt as they make their way through the exhibit.
The Manitoba Moose wore polar bear themed jerseys on Friday, Feb. 3 against the San Jose Barracuda. The jerseys were auctioned off with net proceeds to be donated to Assiniboine Park Conservancy’s Polar Bear Rescue Team. In conjunction with its donation, the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club will be the presenting sponsor of Assiniboine Park Conservancy’s Polar Bear Run being held at Assiniboine Park on Sunday, February 26.
