Morton will start ALCS Game 3 for Astros


Morton will take the mound when the series moves to Yankee Stadium on Monday at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. He follows Dallas Keuchel and Justin Verlander in Houston’s postseason rotation.

Righty Morton started the Astros’ series-clinching Game 4 win over the Red Sox in the AL Division Series presented by Doosan. In his first postseason start since he was a Pirate in 2013, Morton went 4 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits with six strikeouts.

Brad Peacock had started Game 3 for the Astros in the ALDS, but he lasted just 2 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits in the Astros’ 10-3 loss.

Morton beat the Yankees in his only start against them this season, going 5 2/3 innings and allowing four runs with 10 strikeouts.
