NKU’s Landrum announces women¹s golf commitment from Lillian Young

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Head coach Daryl Landrum received a commitment from Lillian Young to join the Northern Kentucky University women’s golf team next fall. Young brings a championship pedigree to a program that finished runner-up in the Horizon League Championship last season.

A native of Waddy, Kentucky (Shelby County HS), Young has won four tournaments during her prep career and finished runner-up in last season’s 5th Region Championship.

Young won the 2014 and 2016 Gene Hilen Invitational. She also won both the 2015 Trusted Choice Big I State Qualifier and 2016 Golfweek hosted by Western Kentucky University, while finishing runner up in the 2015 and 2016 5th Region Championship.

The individual accolades have piled up as well, as Young has garnered more than 15 awards during her career. She is a three-time academic all-state first team honoree and collected her first KHSAA First Team All-State honor in 2016. Young has twice been named both the Region 5 Player of the Year and Region 5 All-State Team member.
