DURHAM, N.H. – Junior center Carlie Pogue (Cincinnati, Ohio) of the University of New Hampshire women’s basketball team collected America East Player of the Week honors for the third time this season Monday.
Pogue has led the Wildcats to a 21-4 overall record and 11-1 mark in America East this season and had another impressive week. She capped it off with a career-high 32 points in a 76-69 win over Binghamton on Sunday. Pogue also matched her career high with 17 rebounds against Binghamton.
UNH went 2-1 for the week with home wins over Binghamton and Vermont and a road loss at Albany.
For the week, Pogue averaged 24.7 points and nine rebounds per game. She shot 57.1 percent (28-49) from the floor and 85 percent (17-20) from the free throw line.
Pogue also earned America East Player of the Week honors on Jan. 23 and Dec. 5. A Wildcat has won the award four times this season. Junior guard Brittni Lai (Irvington, N.Y.) was the winner for the week of Jan. 16.
NEXT HOME GAME
•The Wildcats have one regular season home game remaining. They face UMass Lowell in Lundholm Gymnasium on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. for their Senior Night.
•UNH plays at Maine on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. and at Hartford on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. After the home game against UMass Lowell, the Wildcats close out the regular season with a game at UMBC on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m.
