The Wolves, a member of the NAIA’s Cascade Collegiate Conference, finish their season with a 3-26 overall record. The Pilots snapped a 14-game losing streak and improve to 10-19 overall. The game was added to the schedule to make up for Portland’s game at Boise State that was cancelled earlier this season due to inclement travel weather.

Junior center Philipp Hartwich scored eight points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds. Hartwich also blocked three shots to move into fifth place on Portland’s career charts with 85. He has blocked three or more shots in four consecutive games.

Freshman Alec Monson played a season-high nine minutes off the bench and scored his first collegiate points. He drilled back-to-back three-pointers and made a driving layup on three straight possessions late to finish with eight points.

The Pilots used their size to gain a 49-30 rebounding margin, 46-14 edge in points in the paint and 16-4 margin in second chance points. Portland also forced 15 turnovers while committing just eight.

Zayne Browning scored a team-high 11 points off the bench for Walla Walla, while Andrew Nye added 11 points.

Portland will return to the hardwood on Thursday to host the BYU Cougars at 7 p.m. It is the final home game of the season and seniors Ray Barreno, Jarrel Marshall and Alec Wintering will be honored 10 minutes prior to tip-off as part of Senior Night.
